The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
 
A minimum grade of C must be earned in each HIM course and in MATH 105 and BIOL 220/221. In order to enter the senior year (professional training) each student must have completed every required course or its equivalent through the junior year with an overall average of at least 2.5 as computed by the Registrar and a minimum grade of "C" in each HIM course through the Junior Year.
 
A minimum adjusted GPA of 2.3 is required for graduation. Although a minor is not required, if a student elects to pursue a minor from the approved list, the student must have an average of 2.3 or greater for all minor courses.  

 

Additional Notes:

 
(*1) Students must demonstrate a proficiency in typewriting prior to entry into the junior year or schedule a beginning typewriting course.
 
(*2) Chosen from ECON 201, ECON 202, or ECON 300
 
(*3) Chosen from one of the following courses:
• DANC (any course)
• MUS (any course, through MUS 300, 301, 302, 303, 304, 308, 360, & 362 recommended for non-majors)
• THEA (any course)
• VIAR (any course)
• ARCH 221
• DSGN 121
 
(*4) English 201, 202, 321, or 322
 
(*5) Chosen from CHEM 101, CHEM 107 or CHEM 125
 
(*6) Chosen from FNAN 300, MKTG 345, OR PHIL 316
Note: FNAN 300 and MKTG 345 can be used towards a business minor.
 
(*7) Four week full-time managerial internship
