| In April, the Student Health Information Management Society hosted a Hollywood inspired banquet in honor of the 2008 graduating class of HIM majors.
On May 4, 2008, the Student Health Information Management Society assisted the Student Orientation Staff (SOS) and the Student Government Association (SGA) during Campu Cleanup Day. SHIMS provided a financial donation as well as a donation of members' time in order to keep the UL campus looking beautiful.
During the past year, two HIM students were recognized and honored for their scholastic achievements. The Louisiana Medical Group Management Association - Acadiana Chapter Endowed Scholarship was awarded to Marcy Hargrave and Jessica Spell was the recipient of a scholarship sponsored by the Southwest District of the Louisiana Health Information Management Association. |
