| The mission of the Student Health Information Management Society (SHIMS) at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is to provide a meaningful interaction among the Health Information Management students as well as other medical and allied health groups. The organization strives to further the professional knowledge of its members. In addition, SHIMS members participate in various fundraising activities with proceeds benefiting not only the organization but also the University’s HIM Department. |

SHIMS meeting has not been set.
Other Student News The Louisiana Health Information Management Association awarded the Eddie V. Cooksey Scholarship in April 2011 to UL Senior, Victoria Newland. The scholarship is awarded annually to one HIM student at an accredited four-year HIM program in the state. Congratulations Victoria! The 2011 Senior Banquet was held at Prejean's Restaurant in April. Attendance was excellent and a good time was had by all. |
