Health Information Management Society

The Health Information Management Society (HIMS) is an organization open to all students majoring in Health Information Management.  The purpose of the club is to provide students with a better understanding of the role of the Health Information Manager by instilling a sense of leadership and dedication to their future career as a Registered Health Information Administrator.

Club officers consist of a president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer.  Various committees may be formed throughout the year as the need arises.  Regular meetings are held throughout the year.

Club activities include touring health care facilities, fund-raising events, sponsoring guest speakers, sponsoring student attendance at conferences, and sponsoring a year-end banquet for graduating seniors.  Active participation in the HIMS provides excellent preparation for further participation in professional health information management associations.
